Chophouse Row

Chophouse Row is a new alley that opened in May, connecting 11th and 12th Ave between Union and Pike, in Capitol Hill. When you walk through this narrow alley with stores and terraces, you can see the remains of a 1924 building that has been transformed. There is no roof but they kept the beams and old cement.

Along the row you can find amongst others, the neighborhood café Chop Shop, Niche (garden products and decoration hanged like an exhibit), and Kurt Farm Shop (ice cream and cheese). Read my post about the best chocolate ice cream in Seattle

Equality in Sturgus Park

Equality is a sculpture in Sturgus Park, north of Beacon Hill.

Made by Ken Leback and Rolon Bert Garner, it features 30ish similar houses in a row and a preeminent one on a grass hill. Is it Equality when a larger one seems to be above all the others? I like the message it is trying to get across.

A few steps further stands a beautiful Korean Pavilion.
