Casco Antiguo, Best Mexican Restaurantin Seattle?

I am still wondering why we did not go to Casco Antiguo sooner.

I don’t know if the Mexican food here is authentic but it is really good.

First, we shared the Queso Flameado (kind of melted cheese with chorizo), then we had some Pork Carnitas Tacos (Braised pork shoulder with a fantastic salsa verde) and Beef brisket Tacos. Unfortunately, they were out of the Pescado tacos (Mahi Mahi with a mango salsa) that we wanted to have. I want to taste those next time.

We could not resist ordering the churros. Yes I know this a lot of calories but seriously, don’t miss them, they were to die for.

I like the feel of the restaurant. It is an old building in Pioneer Square and as soon as you enter, you don’t feel like you are in Seattle anymore. There is also a small patio at the back of the restaurant.

Brunch at Brimmer and Heeltap

Brimmer and Heeltap is a bar and restaurant in Ballard, open for brunch on weekends.

The space is super cute and light. I like the numerous soliflores along the wall and the blue of the seats. They also have a patio for when the sun decides to shine again…

Reservation is key for the brunch unless you arrive early.

The brunch menu list is pretty short but unique. We had a delicious and fresh housemade Ricotta served with fresh figs. The bread was delicious, thickly sliced and toasted! We shared also a traditional breakfast with eggs, toasts, and sausage and a scrumptious salad.

We will definitely be back one evening to try the dinner menu.

Mr West Cafe Bar

Sometimes, when you ride the bus in Seattle, you may be late, so you learn to leave earlier but then you are too early for your appointment… It happens! So where to go at 8am in the morning in the Denny Triangle? MR WEST!

This place is very nice and spacious. I like the bright lights and the plants all around. I felt very comfortable sitting there with plenty of nice photos to look at. Art is on sale if you are interested in buying one of the pieces.

This is another coffee shop that I will like to use as a substitute office!

One day I had a croissant that was so flaky and so good, that I asked the waiter if they were baked on site. I was not surprised to hear that they order them at Fuji Bakery! Another day I tried the savory yogurt. It was very original but tasty.

I am looking forward to summer time to enjoy the patio, if only there were less cranes and construction work in this area…
