Petit Pierre Bakery

Freshly arrived from France, Alex and Laure decided to start a French bakery in Magnolia Village. Named after their son, Petit Pierre Bakery has been open for less than 2 months.

Laure’s specialities are petits choux, huge madeleines, macarons and all traditional French pastries. My favorite so far? Pistachio madeleines, chocolate petits choux, and the lemon tarts

The other day, I stopped by after a walk in Discovery Park for lunch. I bought a combo; a soup with a quiche or a sandwich. The made from scratch lentil and carrots soup was delicious.

If you live in Magnolia’s neighborhood or go to Discovery Park, stop by! They are so friendly and hardworking and their bakery smells like France !

A walk around Green Lake

A 3-mile walk around Green Lake is always a pleasure, especially when the sky is this blue! Be aware that it may be crowded on weekends. You can bike, run or walk and cross strollers and skateboards. You can also rent a paddle board during summer!

Lucky us, we spotted a bald eagle at the top of a tree. A very elegant bird!

A Play with spectacular reviews at Seattle Repertory Theatre!

After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the airspace was closed and 38 planes were diverted to Gander, Canada, making this small town unexpected hosts to an international community. Residents of Gander volunteered with generosity and warm-heartedness to house, feed, and entertain the travelers.

As season subscribers at the Seattle Repertory Theatre, this play was part of our package. We had no idea what we would see that night and did not know it was a musical as the SRT usually presents only plays not musicals.

Last Tuesday, we saw “COME FROM AWAY” and we loved it.

The show is very well crafted, moving, funny, and heartwarming. The staging is efficient and flowing freely between sequences and talented performers fill several roles amazingly.

We have decided to see it again and we will bring our kids (12 and 17) next weekend.

The SRT added shows and the last one is now December 20th. Get your tickets while you still can.

It is only $16 for students.
