I love everything at Mamnoon

Mamnoon is one of my favorite Seattle restaurants. They serve fabulous Syrian and Lebanese cuisine.

Last time we went, we enjoyed every dish we ordered. The salads and the keftas (minced beef and lamb) were delicious. We also ordered flavorful stuffed vine leaves (Dolmeh). We discovered a new dish: Muhammara. It is a dip made with pepper paste, walnuts, pomegranate, and cumin.

They also have a great list of cocktails; I recommend the No. 13- Lily of Bekaa Valley (saffron infused Lillet, Elderflower liqueur, and Prosecco)

I also love the beautiful, unique, and warm interior design. Colorful table tops, contemporary Middle Eastern and African pictures, partition between the lounge and the dining room, and also the pendant lights! I love everything. Try to ask to be seated in the lounge room, it is more convivial with its sofas and isn’t as loud as the main room.

If you want to go there for lunch be aware that the lunch menu is different and shorter.
Remember you can also take out: read my previous post.

First outdoor lunch at Terra Plata

Spring has sprung! Temperature was 63°F today in a sunny Seattle.
This morning I was in a mood for an outdoor lunch, so I looked for a restaurant that had already set up their tables on a patio or terrace. I opted for Terra Plata because of its beautiful rooftop.

I had a Moroccan Steak Sandwich: Pita bread with hanger steak, feta, minted yogurt, greens, and olives. The pita was warm and the steak was flavorful. This is a nicely sized dish for lunch.
My friend had a salad: Local Albacore Niçoise with seared tuna, spinach, tomato, fennel, vegetable, soft boiled egg, and bagna cauda. Not a traditional Salade Niçoise but the tuna was perfectly seared and the greens were very fresh.

It was a perfect lunch!

Mistral Kitchen is always a good idea

It is always a pleasure to be at MistralKitchen even if the menu does not really change. For lunch or dinner, it is always a good idea. You can also choose to sit at the bar, for a glass of “Champagne du moment” or a great cocktail, and some small plates. They also have sidewalk tables with a nice view of the Space Needle.

Hamachi crudo, Italian charcuterie plate, and all the desserts are my favorites but Foie Gras Torchon, Seared Foie Gras, Manila Clams, Cheeses, Robuchon Potatoes, and Chicken are always delicious. For lunch, they serve a large and delicious wood-fired pizza (Tomato, Prosciutto di San Daniele and Arugula) and a fantastic salad with buratta.
