Chiho Aoshimaat the Asian Art Museum

“Rebirth of the World” is a beautiful modern exhibit of drawings, prints on plexiglass, and a video animation by a young Japanese artist, Chiho Aoshima.

It may be seen as dark but I liked the beautiful landscapes, humanized buildings, and also weird creatures making one with nature. Pictured below are 3 of my favorite pieces.

I am not an art critic so please go and make your own opinion. But I am sure the exhibit will have some impact on you.

Kurt Farm Shop

We ate the best chocolate ice cream in Seattle ! If you already know of this place, you should have told me!!!!

This ice cream is delicious, it is like a frozen chocolate mousse. It is to die for! The base is made on Vashon Island in a farm with their cows’ cream and milk.  And the chocolate comes from… Theo of course! I love Theo Chocolate! (Read more here about Theo).

Ok it is not cheap: $4.5 a single and $10.5. But seriously, it worth it.

They opened their little shop in May in Chophouse Row Building on Capitol Hill. They sell ice creams as well as cheeses. Next time I’ll try the cheese.

Stateside

Stateside is a restaurant that opened last Winter in Capitol Hill. I wanted to go there because I really loved their decor with green walls and palmy greens on the wall paper!

They serve Vietnamese cuisine with Chinese and French influences. We went there for lunch and the menu was simple: salads, sandwiches, soups and noodles.

Here are the dishes that we ordered and enjoyed, because they are all fresh and tasty.

It was a great experience.  This place is perfect because not too loud for business lunch or meet with friends.  I need to go back for dinner.

If Stateside has been on your list of new places to try, try it and let us know what you think.
